Commonly referred to as “Golfer’s Elbow”, flexor tendinitis (medial epicondylitis) refers to acute inflammation of the inner elbow.
If the tendons are stressed a prolonged period degeneration and inflammation within the tendons on the inside of the elbow. These tendons connect the forearm muscles to their origin from the arm bone. These muscles function to move the wrist, hand and fingers. Generally a person presents at a chronic stage of injury and the patient is diagnosed with a tendinopathy which reflects that the tendons have less inflammation however more degradation and scar tissue.
Management of this condition involves soft tissue work to release the muscles and restrictions that have been formed, as well as stretching and strengthening to the involved muscles.
